Circus West: A Stanley Park Circus Adventure May 12 – 15, 2011

CircusWest, the non-profit circus arts centre that is most famous in Vancouver for its youth training and performance program CirKids, is celebrating Vancouver’s own Stanley Park this weekend, in honour of Vancouver’s 125th Anniversary.

Journey to Lost Lagoon: A Stanley Park Circus Adventure is a “magical and mystical circus tour through Stanley Park over the last 125 years.”  The show tells the story of the journey of Lord Stanley and his companions as they travel from major Park landmarks along the Seawall and “interact with animals and super natural forces along the way.”

Held at the PNE Garden Auditorium, Journey to Lost Lagoon showcases the unique artistry of CircusWest youth while bringing to life (in a magical way) many of Stanley Park’s most famous attractions. During the show, Stanley Park’s totem poles, park animals and statues come to life! There are also Acrobatics, Aerial Fabric Routines, Human Pyramids on Unicycles, Human Contortion and Swinging Trapeze.

CircusWest’s Journey to Lost Lagoon: A Stanley Park Circus Adventure plays at the PNE Garden Auditorium May 12 – 15, 2011. Tickets are $12 – $18, and are selling out fast (as of this writing, Saturday and Sunday shows are still available), so move quickly if you want to see this amazing show.

If you’ve seen CircusWest and CirKids in action before, please leave a comment—we’d love to hear what you think!
