Outdoor Yoga at Canada Place

Waterfront Yoga at Canada Place

There’s something very West Coast Canadian—and very Vancouver—about outdoor yoga. Maybe because it combines so many of our favourite things: fresh air, stunning scenery, exercise, and an excuse to bust out our yoga mats.

Starting this Thursday, July 28, Canada Place will be hosting “by donation” outdoor yoga on its Observation Deck every Monday and Thursday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The stunning setting lets you enjoy the beauty of the Burrard Inlet, North Shore Mountains and Stanley Park while you’re “connecting with the harmony of your inner self.”

Each of the Canada Place yoga classes are open to all skill levels—though you do need to bring your own mat—and are taught by Tedi Martin, of Steve Nash Sports Club and Semperviva.

Waterfront Yoga at Canada Place is “by donation” because it’s a fundraiser for Strathcona Community Centre’s Food Security for Children program, which helps feed disadvantaged children in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. A minimum donation of $10 is suggested, though anything you can give is appreciated!

The yoga classes are subject to cancellation due to weather, so be sure to check the Canada Place site for updates.
