Attention mall rats: a 25,000 sq. ft. H&M recently opened doors in Metropolis at Metrotown occupying what used to be about a dozen separate retail spaces. I don’t like to queue, so I skipped the opening day Oct. 13, when hordes of urban and suburban Vancouver shoppers lined up for access to the new, super-sized store in BC’s largest shopping centre. I did check out the Metropolis H&M later on, and here’s what I found out:

The multilevel, avante-garde-Scandie-design-meets-mainstream-retail store in Metropolis has more size selection than the downtown Pacific Centre store. On the other hand, the Pacific Centre H&M store receives exclusive collections like the upcoming Versace for H&M collection, which launches Saturday Nov. 19, and won’t make it out to the Metropolis at Metrotown H&M location.

Forever 21 is conveniently next door the new Metropolis H&M. Together, these mega stores draw the majority of the mall’s under-thirty fashion junkies.

In other news, a multilevel Forever 21 will soon open doors on Robson Street where Tsunami Sushi and El Kartel used to be. More to come on the Forever 21 opening later.
