Versace for H&M Launches Exclusively at the Pacific Centre Nov. 19

Versace is the latest couture house to collaborate with H&M on an exclusive designer collection, following the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Lanvin. The Versace for H&M collection launches Saturday, Nov. 19, in only one West Coast Canadian location: The Pacific Centre H&M.

Although typically fashionistas sleep until noon when their bichon brings them breakfast cupcakes, an H&M designer collaboration is one event that will pull them out of bed early. You’ll have to get in line if you want to get the goods. At the Versace for H&M launch in London Nov. 17, the entire stock was gone in minutes.

Here’s what you need to know to decide whether or not you are going to queue and trample for glamour:

About Versace

Founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace, the Versace look is all about is decadent, daring dresses and wild iconography. Gianni Versace is said to have  revolutionized fashion by creating provocative styles, cut with an impeccable eye for design. Following his unexpected death in 1997, Donatella Versace has continued Gianni’s work as creative director, perfecting a boldly feminine aesthetic with eye-popping cocktail dresses and red carpet goddess gowns.

About the Versace for H&M collection

For H&M, Donatella went back to the archives to reinterpret some classic Versace designs. The womenswear collection is dominated by dresses featuring studded leather, silk and colourful prints. The accessories include high heels and costume jewellry.

The menswear collection will focus on sharp tailoring, including the perfect tuxedo, as well as belts and (yes, really) jewellry for men.

Bonus: For the first time in a designer collaboration at H&M, the collection will include home decor pieces including pillows and a bedspread.

Prices for the Versace For H&M line will range from $20-$300, with most pieces falling between $150 and $200.
