Background:
Carine Redmond, a Vancouver-based publicist and creative consultant for national and global lifestyle brands and talent, travels to award shows, red-carpet fêtes and industry events. She’s come to accept astronomical iPhone bills and jet lag as occupational hazards. Carine attended McGill University and has worked with some of the biggest clients in entertainment and public relations, including Kopelson Entertainment, The Tyra Banks Show and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Carine’s years in the industry have helped her build strong relationships with media, influencers, tastemakers, vendors and other public relations professionals. She has a passion for talent management, and currently works with a varied group of notable people and brands including The Bar Method, Peroni Nastro Azzurro Beer and the Sundance Film Festival. Through various projects Carine has secured and managed talent for such brands as Pinkberry and worked with names including Shaun White, celebrity chef David Adjey, HGTV star Bryan Baeumler and former Bachelorette Jillian Harris.

How long have you been a Vancouverite? Since 2008

Favourite place in the city:
Kits beach on a summer day, The Narrow Lounge at night, Maple Leaf Lounge at YVR the rest of the time.

Best way to spend a Saturday in the city:
A morning Bar Method class, coffee and gossip at Café Bica, Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Pacific Rim (best spa services and hands down the best hotel pool in the city) or shopping vintage fashion and home décor in Gastown. Chewies Steam and Oyster House just opened around the corner and is my new go-to in Kits for my wine and oyster fix.

Reading, watching and listening:
Reading: friend and Family Guy writer Dave Ihlenfeld’s memoir Dog Days, online at www.hellogiggles.com and www.laineygossip.com daily. Watching: Friday Night Lights, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight Listening: I’m always looking to hire talent for events so right now I’m liking local Colleen Rennison and her band No Sinner, Vancouver based Brasstronaut, and Pinkberry had So-Cal band Bonnie Dune fly in for their Canadian launch in July.

Favourite Vancouver restaurant:
The Oakwood Canadian Bistro right now – I’m obsessed with their beet and carrot cake with blue cream cheese icing.

Top insider tip for visitors:
Pack an umbrella and a pair of Hunter rain boots. If you don’t need them, even better!

You should have Bonnie Wilson as your next Vancouverite. She is owner of Gild & Co furniture, which is revitalizing her Pt Grey neighbourhood. Sells vintage revamped unique pieces

    • Thank you for the suggestion, Amanda! I’ll reach out to Bonnie this month.
