How long have you been a Vancouverite? 7 Years

Occupation:
Head Brewer at Parallel 49 Brewing Company. Parallel 49 is the newest addition to Vancouver’s thriving craft brewery scene. We have a tasting room where you can sample all of our beers, tour our facilities and purchase our beers to go — this is also a fun way to spend a day in the city!

Favourite place in the city:
I really enjoy gardening, so VanDusen Botanical Garden is one of my favorite places to go on a sunny day. A beautiful garden is one of the perks of living in such a rainy city.

Best way to spend a Saturday in the city:
Get up in the early morning and hit up one of the many hiking trails in the lower mainland, bike over to Wreck Beach for the afternoon, and spend the evening at one of the great local craft beer destinations.

Favourite Vancouver restaurant:
The Alibi Room at 157 Alexander Street. They have a great selection of craft beer accompanied by locally sourced food, along with a friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere (very Vancouver).

Favourite local beer (aside from your own):
Black Plague Stout from Storm Brewing Ltd.

Top insider tip for visitors:
Ditch the car and walk through some of Vancouver’s more interesting neighborhoods. Commercial Drive and Main Street have loads of unique shops and the best way to see them all is on foot.
