Public Karaoke

You know that expression, “go sing it from the rooftops”? Well, here’s your chance to do just that – except replace “rooftops” with “the centre of Vancouver’s downtown core”.

This upcoming Sunday, the public (read: you) is invited to take part in a very communal sing-along. The Vancouver Public Space Network, along with Urban Republic Arts Society have arranged a karaoke kiosk for those brave and bold individuals who have no qualms about belting out their favourite tunes in front of a street full of strangers.

How it works: A Karaoke Kiosk is set up at this Sunday, August 19th from 2 pm – 6 pm (meaning there’s a good shot you’ll get your song in) at Robson Square between Hornby and Howe. The outdoor booth lets you choose from hundreds of songs in seven different languages from a touch screen display. It’s completely free – meaning you don’t have to tip the host – and everyone is welcome.  Even if you sing off-key.
