Action is heating up in New Orleans this week, as the city readies for Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Feb. 3 (kickoff at 3:30 p.m., Vancouver time).
But if you can’t make it down to the Big Easy for the big game here are five options for a great Super Bowl party in Vancouver.

Vancouver’s Official Super Bowl XLVII Party at the Commodore: Billed as the “most authentic way to experience the Super Bowl,” this NFL-approved party at downtown’s Commodore Ballroom features NFL cheerleaders and NFL players, as well as a New-Orleans-inspired tailgate spread. Tickets are $28.50 on Ticketmaster.
Super Bowl XLVII Pig Roast at Library Square: In honour of the pigskin classic, this big, boisterous sports bar just a few blocks from B.C. Place is hosting a full-on pig roast on its patio. Starting at 10 a.m., you can enjoy $3.75 craft beer sleeves, $5 Caesars and plenty of pork. Giveaways include a $1,000 Flight Centre gift certificate. Super Bowl at Yaletown Brewing Co: This classic brewpub in the heart of Yaletown is always a good Super Bowl option. This year, they’ll be hosting a halftime wing-eating competition and offering $4 draft beers and $9 pizzas throughout the game. Home-brewed craft beers, plenty of space and a great pub menu set Yaletown Brewing apart.
Super Bowl XLVII at the Charles Bar: Doors open at 11 a.m. at this sleek contemporary sports bar inside the Woodward’s Building in Gastown. Enjoy $4 beers and Caesars, plus tailgate party food and jersey giveaways. The Charles also boasts one of the city’s biggest HD TVs – a nine-footer!
Super Bowl Sunday at Doolin’s: Put an Irish twist on the Big Game at Doolin’s, the Irish pub on downtown’s Granville Street. Starting at 11:30 a.m., Doolin’s will be offering drink specials, a Super Bowl menu, a 50/50 and more.
