Enjoy a Home Cooked Meal in Support of Charity with #dinnerpartyYVR

It’s not every day a stranger will invite you into their home for a home cooked meal. But on October 19th, thirty homes across Vancouver will be doing just that. #dinnerpartyYVR is a brand new, unique, simultaneous dinner party happening across Vancouver.

The dinner party is a “local, global dinner party” organised by Social Bites. Local hobby chefs will open their doors to strangers and treat guests to a home cooked meal, all in support of their favourite charity. Menus range on a global scale, from Italian to Chinese to Moroccan. Diners can take their pick of cuisines and purchase tickets to the meal of their choice.

Proceeds from the night will be donated to charities chosen by the #dinnerpartyYVR chefs. 100% of your ticket will be gifted back to you as Chimp charity dollars, which you can then use to donate to any of the charities chosen by your #dinnerpartyYVR hosts. Charities include Children’s Hospital, the SPCA, and the Red Cross, among others.

Many of the dinners have sold out already, but a number of dinners still have tickets left. Menus that are still available include curry, salmon, tacos, Italian tapas, seafood paella, Moroccan lamb, and a few vegan or gluten-free meals. Tickets are $35 and include dinner, a glass of wine or beer, and entry to the after-party at Hawkers Market. The after-party will feature local dessert vendors, a bar, and a DJ.

#dinnerpartyYVR is a great way to meet some other Vancouverites, or even your neighbours if the dinner is in your area, all while enjoying delicious food and supporting charity.

When: October 19th @ 6pm
