The 6th Annual Tattoo and Cultural Show is coming to the Vancouver Convention Centre this weekend from April 25-27, and it’s going to get colourful! Tattoos used to be for outlaws and bikers, but now that the art form has moved into the mainstream, people from all walks of life are getting together to put something permanent on their skin.

The Vancouver Tattoo and Culture Show draws in thousands of body art fans who are looking to get tattooed or who are just curious about the culture. The event hosts over 120 artists throughout the weekend, showcasing their artwork and tattooing people straight on the convention floor (not literally – there are chairs and tables).

One of the biggest draws for attendees is that many of the artists at the convention are coming from across Canada and even the United States. The pool of talent being showcased is truly diverse and interesting.

If you’re not keen on getting poked with needles, there are tons of other options for entertainment, including a shopping area full of unique fashion and tattoo/piercing paraphenelia, live DJing, and two pageants.

The Pin-Up Pageant will be happening at 3:00p.m. on Saturday, April 26th and will have beautiful ladies strutting their stuff in fashion, makeup, and accessories that are reminiscent of the 30s, 50s, and 60s. On the flip side, the Dead Dollz Zombie Pageant at 7:00p.m., will have girls in full zombie makeup pitted against each other in a battle of beauty and … exposed brains?

The 2014 Tattoo and Culture Show is taking place this weekend (April 25-27) from 4pm-11pm on Friday, 11am-11pm on Saturday, and 11am-6pm on Sunday. The show will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre (East Building). Tickets are $20 for a day pass and $35 for a weekend pass.
