Cheapest Way to See Shows in Vancouver? Tickets Tonight

Want to see some of the best live shows in Vancouver at half-price?

For years, a little ticket booth tucked away near the Vancouver waterfront has been offering some of the best deals on concerts, theatre, musicals and comedy in the city. Tickets Tonight, located inside the Tourism Vancouver Visitor Centre (200 Burrard St.), is the region’s only outlet for half-price, day-of ticket sales.

For fans of live entertainment, Tickets Tonight is a much loved (and well kept) secret. Day after day, some of the hottest performances in the city are on offer at bargain prices. On a recent weekend, tickets for award-winning improv comedy, classical chamber music, a Tony-award winning musical and avant-garde theatre were all up for grabs.

There is, however, a charmingly old school twist to the whole operation. Half-price tickets can’t be booked online or by phone. They must be purchased in-person on the day of the event. Inventory is limited and tends to go fast, with most day-of ticket sales ending at 4 p.m. But for bargain hunters, this is all part of the excitement.

Tickets Tonight also sells regular-priced, advance tickets for hundreds of events around Vancouver and is a full Ticketmaster outlet. For advance shows, tickets may also be purchased online. For more information, visit the Tickets Tonight website.
