The all-day festival kicks off at 1 p.m. at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby, where action centres around an outdoor stage set up in front of the lake.  The lineup is stacked with some of the biggest names in Canadian pop, rock and folk, not to mention exceptional talent from overlooked corners of the country.  Artists include:

  • Dan Mangan: Juno-award winning Vancouver singer and songwriter
  • Tegan and Sara: Juno-award winners riding a wave of popularity after their 2013 album Heartthrob
  • Spoon: Critically acclaimed blend of punk and rock that has been winning over fans for 20 years
  • Arkells: One of Canada’s best-known alternative rock groups, straight out of Hamilton, Ontario
  • Hannah Georgas: Vancouver’s hot new indie pop artist, whose self-titled 2012 record won mass praise
  • Chad VanGaalen: Calgary artist who has made a 13-year career blending indie, folk and electronica
  • Wake Owl: Indie pop by way of Vancouver and Portland
  • Belle Game: Vancouver’s own dark orchestral pop band
  • Crystal Shawanda: First Nations star who recorded her first album in Nashville at age 13 and has since won dozens of Canadian music awards

In addition to the music, the festival features appearances from CBC personalities Stephen Quinn and Tom Power, plus Vancouver’s own Gloria Macarenko and Renee Filippone. The cast of CBC’s hit radio comedy program The Irrelevant Show will also take the stage for 30 minutes of music-related sketches.
