This year’s Celebration of Light takes place July 26 (USA), July 30 (France) and Aug 2 (Japan).

Each evening will also feature concerts with bands performing in two locations – on the Bathhouse Roof at English Bay and the Rogue Stage at Sunset Beach Park. The full roster of talent has just been announced.

July 26’s acts include Dear Rouge and 54-40 (English Bay) and Scarlett Jane and Current Swell (Sunset Beach). Dear Rouge were the winners last year of the Peak Performance Project local band competition, while 54-40 is one of Vancouver’s most seminal bands of the post-punk era. Scarlett Jane is a duo from Toronto.

On July 30, Hey Ocean! and The Sheepdogs perform at English Bay, while Sunset Beach has Locarno and Spirit of the West. Like 54-40, Spirit of the West is one of Vancouver’s most-loved and influential bands. Meanwhile, Hey Ocean! has been picking up plenty of fans for its upbeat pop-rock. Saskatoon’s The Sheepdogs have also become local faves.

And on Aug 2, The Matinée and The Odds take to the Bathhouse Roof. The Odds are yet another local favourite, having built up a fanbase over the years with pop-rock tunes like “Domesticated Blind”. And over on the Rogue Stage, Jon and Roy will entertain, along with Jim Byrnes & the Sojourners will entertain.
