Pet-Friendly Hotels in Vancouver

Dog owners know that travelling with their dogs can sometimes be a bit of a challenge — not every hotel offers hospitality to four-legged family members.

If you’re coming to Vancouver on vacation, don’t feel that you have to leave Fido at home. Oh no. Vancouver is one of the most dog-friendly cities in North America, and dozens of our hotels will welcome your fur babies with open arms.

Here are four Vancouver hotels that extend the invitation to your canine companion. So cancel the pet sitter, pack the treats, and come visit Vancouver!

(One important thing to keep in mind when travelling with your pup: do let the hotel know when making your reservation, that your dog will be joining you for your stay. They can then let you know what their pet rules and restrictions are, and what pet fees you will incur, if any.)

Fairmont Pacific Rim

If you’re looking to discover gorgeous Vancouver in style, an excellent choice would be the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Located on the Coal Harbour waterfront in downtown, this hotel is mere steps away from parks, the seawall (perfect for long walks with the dog), cafes with pup-friendly patios, and the Seaplane Terminal — in case you’re planning a quick trip to Vancouver Island.

As with all of Vancouver’s Fairmont properties, the Pacific Rim loves dogs, and upon arrival will present your fuzz buddy with a welcome package that includes pet bedding, treats and a walking map. Their concierge team will even assist you with arranging pet sitting services, if required.

If you have the opportunity, take your pup over to meet The Fairmont Vancouver Hotel’s “Canine Ambassadors,” Mavis and Beau. This pair of tail wagging personalities adore meeting out-of-town (and local) pooches.

Pet Fee: None (please note that other Fairmont properties may charge a pet fee)

The Granville Island Hotel

Located on Vancouver’s famous Granville Island (home to the incredible Granville Island Market), this hotel is nestled on the banks of False Creek, overlooking the waterfront and beautiful downtown.

Pet-toting travellers are warmly welcomed and accommodated in one of their beautiful doggy-designated rooms with balcony (great for dogs who love to soak up some rays). Each furry guest receives a gift courtesy of Woofles and Meowz, an island business specializing in handmade organic treats and pet merchandise.

Dog owners will appreciate that this pet-friendly hotel is in close proximity to not one, but two “off-leash” areas, Hadden Park and Charleson Park, so that your four-legged friend can meet, greet, and romp with the local pooches.

Pet Fee: There is a charge for pets of $25 per night

The Loden Hotel

No matter if your four-footed friend is handbag-sized or a gentle giant, all dogs are welcome at the Loden Hotel, a boutique hotel located on the edge of Coal Harbour and Vancouver’s financial district.

As you relax in one of their gorgeous rooms, your pet can lounge next to you on their very own dog bed, provided by the hotel. Also included in a “pet stay” are dog bowls, house-made pup treats (that smell good enough for human consumption!), a complimentary copy of Modern Dog Magazine, and a doggy sanitary kit.

Wishing to make your visit as comfortable as possible, the Loden can organize dog sitting, recommend the best dog walking services, so that your hound can explore Vancouver’s famous “off-leash” parks and trails, and even specialty pet food items can be provided upon request.

Pet Fee: A $45 fee per pet will be added to your folio upon checkout

The OPUS Hotel

With its numerous green spaces for pooches to visit, the stunning seawall to stroll along, and top-notch boutiques and restaurants for humans to experience , it’s no wonder that Yaletown’s OPUS Hotel is a popular destination for pet owners to stay.

The OPUS Hotel loves their four-footed friends and there is never a charge to bring your pampered pooch. Canine guests checking into the OPUS are treated to a comfy bed, doggy bowls, and of course, special snackies. There’s also a complimentary copy of Modern Dog Magazine for mum or dad to peruse when unwinding in the room.

When you’re taking your fur companions out for a walk in the area, pop into Barking Babies (located just around the corner from OPUS on Homer Street) and treat them to a little something. This pet boutique offers unique dog fashions and accessories for fido fashionistas — it’s definitely worth checking out.

Pet Fee: None
