Not only is the Honda Celebration of Light the biggest event of the summer, it’s also BC’s biggest outdoor event that is free to watch! 2015 is the 25th year that the fireworks have been lighting up English Bay and to celebrate, this year is going to be huge.

The details of the 2015 Vancouver Fireworks Celebration of Light were announced recently, and this year Canada is coming back to enter the competition. In addition, along with the firework show, there will also be live performances, an Urban Adventure seawall challenge, and two new areas for prime viewing opportunities.

As The Province Newspaper reported, this Vancouver Fireworks Celebration of Light is truly an international event, with over 85 fireworks shows over the last quarter-century,17 different countries representing every continent except Antarctica have competed.

The Celebration of Light is the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world, but also attracts an astounding 400,000 spectators along English Bay each evening of the event.

This year, in addition to the return of the free SHOREFEST concert series, The Keg Lounge and the YVR Observation Deck, there will also be two new spaces to enjoy the nighttime fireworks: a licensed, ticketed lounge at the English Bay Inukshuk and a family-friendly, licensed bistro in the Sunset Beach Park that will not require tickets for admission.
