If North Vancouver seems a little extra bright at night these days, it might be because millions of tiny little lights have been set up at the Capilano Suspension Bridge in time for the holiday season.

An annual tradition and now in its 10th year, Canyon Lights sees the Capilano Suspension Bridge park transform into a winter wonderland full of festive lights, treetop adventures and entertainment starting on Friday, November 27th.

The suspension bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk and the rainforest attractions will transform in the dark into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment. If you’ve only been to Capilano Suspension Bridge in the daytime, it’s worth heading over there in the evening for the awesome, sparkling view of Canyon Lights.

Aside from the magic of the millions of tiny lights, a new feature will be introduced this year that features a voice activated interactive light display in the rainforest. Lights will illuminate Capilano River and the canyon’s cliff face.

On top of that (literally), you can visit the world’s tallest living Christmas tree (now 153 feet tall and still growing!) in all of its glory. Additional activities also include a scavenger hunt throughout the park, sing-along with the holiday band, cookie decoration, and a family photo opportunity.

Canyon Lights runs Friday, November 27, 2015 to Sunday, January 3, 2016. Park hours are 11:00am – 9:00pm but the lights come on at 4:00pm. Tickets to Canyon Lights are the same as the park’s regular admission fee ($30-40), but B.C. residents who purchase an admission once get free access to the attraction for the next year. Residents of North Vancouver who live in the V7R postal code also get unlimited free admission all year round.

If you don’t want to drive, there will also be a free shuttle operating from Canada Place to the Suspension Bridge every 30 minutes between 11am and 9pm during the duration of Canyon Lights.

If you’re looking for a new Christmas tradition, Canyon lights is a great option. Heading out to walk around in the fresh air after a huge holiday feast is much better than sitting around talking about real estate and the weather forecast. Trust me!
