What Would You Call Vancouver’s Bike Share Program?


CycleHop and the City of Vancouver want your help naming Vancouver’s long-awaited bike share program. With plans to bring 1500 bicycles to 150 different stations this summer, Vancouver will have the largest smart bike share system in North America. So get creative and suggest an appropriate and imaginative name and the fame and glory could be all yours!


Entering is easy. Just log in with your Facebook account or email address using the widget on this page. After entering you’ll have the chance to submit your name choice and pick up bonus entries by signing up for updates from Momentum Mag & Vancouver’s bike share program and sharing the sweepstakes with your social network. Open to residents of Canada. Deadline to enter is April 3, 2016 at 11:59 pm PST.


By submitting your name suggestion to Vancouver Bike Share Inc. you waive the ownership of this name and agree that the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Bike Share Inc. a Cyclehop company can use this name for Vancouver’s bike share system.

    If we are being serious about trying to decolonize, and if Gregor was serious in actually admitting that we are on unceded land, this would be a great opportunity to consult with xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) on a name that is both highly visible and highly used!
