Vancouver’s Four Winds Brewing won the top prize at this year’s Canadian Brewing Awards, bringing home the Beer of the Year award for its Nectarous Dry-Hopped Sour.

Not to be outdone, East Vancouver – which boasts the highest concentration of craft breweries in B.C. – also put in a strong showing. While the awards were spread amongst brewers all over Vancouver (Four Winds is located in Delta), we’ve compiled a list of all the East Van winners to make your next craft brewery crawl more exciting.

East Vancouver was also well-represented in the awards. In the Kellerbier/Zwickelbier category, Brassneck Brewery (2148 Main St.) won gold for its No Brainer. Brassneck also won bronze for its Brassneck Ale (North American Style Amber/Red Ale). Off the Rail (1351 Adanac St.) won gold in the English Style Pale Ale category for its Classic Pale Ale and bronze in the English Bitter category for its Belt Up ESB. Powell Street Brewing (1357 Powell St.) won silver in the same category for its Old Jalopy Pale Ale.

Powell Street also won silver in the Herb & Spice Beer category with its Witbier with Ginger & Cardamom, while Off the Rail took the gold for its Raj Mahal India Ale. Powell Street also took a bronze in the Wood & Barrel Aged Beer category for its Whiskey Barrel Aged Porter.

Main Street Brewing (261 E. 7th St.) took the Silver for its Pilsner and Parallel 49 the gold for its Craft Lager in the North American Premium Lager category.

All told, the CBAs handed out a whopping 52 awards to B.C. breweries, out of 163 awards this past weekend in Richmond.
