Follow sexual health nurse Paula on her online dating quest in new Vancouver-created web series

The Dangers of Online Dating is a new Vancouver-based and -created digital comedy series. The series follows the (mis)adventures of a sexual health nurse who decides to make the leap into the world of online dating.

A launch for the series takes place Nov. 23 from 7-10 p.m. at The Penthouse Night Club (1019 Seymour St.). Katey Hoffman and Cheyenne Mabberly, award-winning writers and performers of the Fringe hit The After Party Girls, will host. A talkback with cast and crew follows a screening of the two seasons (each episode is about five minutes). Tickets are by donation and all proceeds will go toward Options for Sexual Health, a BC-based non-profit provider of sexual health services.

The Dangers of Online Dating stars Paula Burrows (Motive, The Killing), as Paula; Byron Noble (Fargo) as Alexandre, a friend who encourages her in her quest; and Stacy Mahieux (Complexity) as Molly, Paula’s roommate.

Series creator Brianne Nord-Stewart has made award-winning shorts such as Trolls (2009), The Provider (2011) and most recently, Beat Around the Bush (2016). The latter picked up Best Comedy Short at the Arizona International Film Festival and the Brpad Humour Festival, and Best Ensemble Cast from the Atlanta Underground Film Festival.

The party starts with a Red Carpet at 7 p.m, with the screening at 7:45.

Tickets will also be available by CASH donation at the door, pending capacity.
