Ticket Giveaway: Handel’s Messiah Performed by the Bach Choir!

Handel’s Messiah takes over the Orpheum Theatre on December 9.

Contest alert! It’s day seven of The 12 Productions of Christmas. Enter to win today’s prize!

The production  Hallmark has filmed countless TV movies in Vancouver and surrounding regions, expertly crafting feel-good stories that provide a welcome escape from the holiday madness. In A Christmas to Remember, a New York City celebrity chef on the brink of a breakdown drives away from her life and into the mountains. En route, her car crashes and she awakens with amnesia – and, of course, a handsome stranger is perfectly placed to take her in and nurse her back to health. The movie was filmed at sites in and around Vancouver, including the Maple Ridge Equestrian Centre.

The attraction  As Hallmark reminds us, Christmas has the wondrous ability to evoke warm and fuzzy feelings in even the most cold-hearted Scrooge. This year, send shivers down your spine at a performance of Handel’s Messiah performed by the Vancouver Bach Choir (December 9). The captivating melodies and impressive crescendos are enhanced by the acoustics of host venue the Orpheum Theatre, creating a haven of hauntingly beautiful music.
