Celebrity cats—yes, you read that right—heading to Vancouver for Meowfest

Meowfest is a celebration for cat lovers . This festival is the first of its kind to come to Canada’s West Coast, and it’s happening July 29, 2018 at the Roundhouse in Yaletown (181 Roundhouse Mews). The day will include celebrity cats, food trucks, speakers, entertainment, shopping, adoptable felines and more. Tickets go on sale in January. Below, find out more about some of the guests coming to Moewfest Vancouver 2018.

Kitten Lady—Renowned kitten rescuer and animal advocate, Hannah Shaw, has been profiled in People Magazine, Cosmopolitan, and other media outlets. The Washington, D.C.-based cat-lover has also been featured as a guest expert on Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell. In 2017, CatCon Worldwide named her Advocate of the Year. Shaw’s project, Kitten Lady, provides educational resources and workshops on orphan kittens. As Kitten Lady, Shaw has amassed a viral social media following through sharing images from the daily life of a kitten advocate on her Instagram and Facebook, and educational videos about kitten care through her YouTube channel.

The Great Went Pet Photography—Andrew is an animal photographer best known for his images of felines. His work documents the lives of celebrity cats, shelter cats, and house cats. His work is featured in the 2016 book Shop Cats of New York.

Celebrity cats—Nala is a Siamese-Tabby mix who is the most famous cat on Instagram—so much so that Forbes recently named her a Top Influencer. Other notable high-strung predators include Luna Rose (362k followers on Instagram as of this writing) and our own local boy BenBen, “saddest cat on the Internet” (139k followers on Instagram).

Meowfest is presented by meowbox, which has offices in Vancouver and Portland.
