Sam Roberts Band will be headlining the first Global Citizen Live Vancouver, a live concert event with special performances by The Elwins, Crown Lands and Horsepowar. Organized by Global Citizen, an international advocacy organization, and in partnership with Live Nation, this free event will be held on Thursday, April 12 at the Commodore Ballroom.

The Global Citizen Live event highlights the need for action on issues that affect women and girls around the world, including global health and climate change. To earn free tickets to the live concert, music fans and activists are invited to sign up and take action to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Such actions include emailing world leaders, signing petitions, and using social media to generate commitments.

“It’s incredible to see all different walks of life join the Global Citizen movement and become unified through the power of music. We are so proud to be part of something that inspires and motivates change, and what ultimately has the ability to make this world a better place,” said the Sam Roberts Band.

Since the first Global Citizen Festival in New York in 2012, Global Citizen has grown into one of the largest, most visible platforms for young people around the world calling on world leaders to honour their responsibilities in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
