Written by Carly Whetter

Known for excellent, delicious food all within a stone’s throw away from the downtown core, Vancouver never fails to serve up something delicious—whether you’re looking for a quick bite or are a hardcore foodie. Looking for new restaurants with stunning views, sustainable seafood, local craft beer, and interesting decor? Look no further, continue reading below.

Prospect Point Bar & Grill | Opened Spring 2018

Located in Stanley Park, Vancouver’s world-famous 1,000-acre urban park adjacent to the downtown core, Prospect Point has attracted visitors and locals alike since 1888 to its unrivalled views of lush temperate rainforest, ocean, and mountains. Recently renovated and reopened after a $3.5 million revitalization project, the new and improved Bar & Grill looks over Vancouver’s North Shore, serving up a casual West Coast inspired menu (plus local craft beer and ice cream!). Easily accessible from both Vancouver’s downtown and North Shore, Prospect Point is an escape to nature just minutes from the city.

The Cliff House Restaurant & Bar | Opened March 2018

Located inside the stunning Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, the new Cliff House Restaurant & Bar is a must-visit now that summer has arrived. The new restaurant features breathtaking views of Capilano Canyon, locally sourced fare, Ocean Wise seafood, BC craft beer and wines, and a kid-friendly Little Loggers menu (complete with crayons!). Explore the suspension bridge park, one of Vancouver’s most popular attractions, before tucking in at Cliff House. Visit the website for more information about the bridge and restaurant.

Popina Canteen | Opening date to be announced

This gourmet counter-service restaurant will be housed in three re-purposed shipping containers on Granville Island, hearkening back to the island’s industrial past, and is the brainchild of four award-winning chefs: Angus An (Maenam, Freebird Chicken Shack, Sen Pad Thai, Longtail Kitchen), Robert Belcham (Campagnolo, Campagnolo Roma, Upstairs at Campagnolo, Monarch Burger), Hamid Salimian (Earls Kitchen + BarDiva at the Met), and Joël Watanabe (Kissa Tanto, Bao Bei). The menu is yet to be announced, but expect everything from falafel to lobster rolls to ice cream. Think quick, delicious food and drink in an outdoor venue with an exceptional view of False Creek and Downtown. Keep your eyes peeled for the official opening date, to be announced soon!
