Summer Sounds Concert Series Pops Up at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn

This July and August, šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn (formerly the Queen Elizabeth Theater Plaza) will resound with the get-up-and-dance rhythms of four free concerts – three of whose headliner acts will remain secret until two weeks before each show. The cat’s out of the bag for the premiere show, however: Jon and Roy, Victoria-based folk rock and reggae band, will kickstart the series with their rhythmic acoustics on July 20.

Presented by Vancouver Civic Theatres and 102.7 THE PEAK Vancouver’s Modern Rock, Summer Sounds is the perfect way to while away warm days and long nights in downtown Vancouver. In addition to grooving to songs by popular performers, attendees can fuel up pre-show at the array of food trucks and cool off with a beer or glass of wine at the patio bar.

Shows take place July 20 and 31, and August 7 and 21, and festivities begin at 5.30pm. Follow @VanCivicTheatre to learn the identity of performers two weeks prior to each show.

Attendees are encouraged to take transit, bike or choose another environmentally responsible method of transportation. šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn is situated a short walk away from Stadium Skytrain Station and major bike lines. For more information, click here.
