Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Headline Vancouver Just For Laughs Film Festival

Get ready to LOL! Vancouver-born Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg join comedy buddies Ken Jeong, Aziz Ansari, Whitney Cummings and many more during the second annual Vancouver Just For Laughs Film Festival.

Guaranteed to leave you in stitches, the festival is part of Just For Laughs Northwest and runs between February 14 and 23. Each day, audiences can look forward to nonstop funny bone tickles as actors, filmmakers and other film industry members take centre stage at venues across the city.

Highlights we’re looking forward to most at this year’s JFL Film Festival include:

  • Hometown heroes Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg kicking back as they discuss their favourite and most outrageous comedies (Superbad, anyone?), and treat attendees to a glimpse of their next projects (February 15, 10pm, Vogue Theatre)

  • Master movie riffers The Gentlemen Hecklers honour Valentine’s Day with a cringe-worthy spin on The Notebook (February 13, 9pm, Rio Theatre)

  • Film showing of Never Be Done: The Richard Glenn Lett Story, attended by Richard Lett himself as well as Director Roy Tighe

  • Daytime panels led by influential film industry professionals, such as “It Starts with the Script: A Comedy Screenwriters Panel” and “Hollywood North: Financing Your Future Comedy Film”

The festival also hosts two short film competitions recognizing masters of short format storytelling. Submissions for World-Wide Shorts are comprised of some of the world’s most comedic shorts, which will screen on February 17, 4pm at Vancity Theatre. Comedy Short Shorts features comedic short films from the Pacific Northwest, which will screen on February 17, 6pm at Vancity Theatre.
