What you need to know about the Rolling Stones’ upcoming Vancouver show

Tickets for the Rolling Stones in Vancouver go on sale a week from today, on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. The rock legends will play what is sure to be a sold-out BC Place Stadium on May 12 as part of its No Filter Tour.

This is the band’s first show here since 2006. Billboards featuring the lips-and-tongue logo and song titles began appearing around BC Place last week. For more on the No Filter Tour, including possible songs on the setlist, see below.

The Vancouver show is the second, following San Diego, on this latest leg of its No Filter North American tour.

It’s the second year in a row the band has taken the No Filter tour cross-continent.

The band paused the 2019 run for several months after 77-year-old lead singer Mick Jagger underwent heart surgery.

Along with Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts are original members of the band. Ron Wood joined in 1975. Bassist Darryl Jones remains an unofficial member, even though he’s toured and recorded with the band since 1994 (he replaced original bassist Bill Wyman, who left in 1992). Chuck Leavell is their touring keyboardist. 2020 marks the 58th anniversary of the group.

A review of a July 2019 show in Massachusetts at rollingstone.com called the concert “wonderfully ragged.”

Spoiler alert! If you don’t want to know what songs the band has been playing, read no further!

Among the tracks played at that show: “Gimme Shelter,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Street Fighting Man” (which opened the show), “Tumbling Dice,” “Midnight Rambler,” “Paint It Black,” “Miss You,” “She’s So Cold” and, of course, (for an encore) “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Mid-show, Jagger and Richards ventured onto a secondary stage to treat the audience to acoustic renditions of 1965’s “Play With Fire” and 1971’s “Dead Flowers.”

Fans can register for presale at Rollingstones.com. Otherwise, their best bet is Ticketmaster.ca on Feb. 14. Seating at BC Place Stadium is approximately 54,500.

Unfortunately, ticket pricing for the AEG event is not known at this time.
