Looking for fun outdoor activities to tackle with your bubble? Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours has you covered! They’ve joined us to share more details about their Fall and Winter programming.

What sets you apart from other Vancouver attractions?

Our team of storytellers definitely sets us apart from other attractions and activities. They bring our city’s history to life with flair, humour, and compassion, and are simply some of the friendliest human beings you could possibly meet!

What’s new with Forbidden Vancouver?

This year we launched the Last Gang in Town Clark Park Walking Tour. We brought together former gang members from the early 1970s — who had been involved in an epic battle with the VPD for control of the neighbourhood’s streets — along with local historian and writer Aaron Chapman. It was ninety minutes packed with some astonishing Vancouver crime history. We ran right tours over the fall this year and plan to bring it back for Spring 2021.

What do you want locals to know about your business?

We’re a small family owned company committed to sharing the dark, peculiar, and whimsical stories of our city’s past. We’ve staged everything from Christmas plays to whodunnit brewery crawls to roving theatre productions to backstage tours in the Commodore Ballroom and Penthouse Nightclub — if there’s a compelling story to share from our city’s past, then we’ll tell it in style!

Are there any new access policies that you have put into place that guests should be aware of before visiting you?

All our experiences must be booked in advance on forbiddenvancouver.ca. We’re limiting group size during the pandemic and encouraging mask wearing. Physical distancing is mandatory.

Are you anticipating any changes to your hours of operation in the coming fall and winter months?

Over the winter we’re running our Art Deco and Chocolate Tasting Tour on Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m.

Anything not covered by the above questions you would like us to highlight?

We launched the Really Gay History Tour in 2018 — it’s one of very few walking tours in the world that explores LGBTQ2+ history. Vancouver played an incredible globally for gay rights and the creator and guide Glenn Tkach does a magnificant job sharing that history with our guests. It’s something truly unique to experience right here in Vancouver!
