Halloween Baker’s Market + Cupcake Eating Contest

Halloween cupcakes by Ozmafan

Sweet news for trick-or-treaters of all ages: A Halloween Baker’s Market takes place this Saturday, Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Moberly Arts & Culture Centre. The 2000 sq. ft. space will be transformed into a souk of homemade, sugary nosh options from ghoulish cupcakes to fluffy, pumpkin-buttercream-filled macarons. Adults and kids, in costume of course, are welcome to come join the festivities. Kids will receive marshmallow ghosts or pumpkins courtesy of the market.

I say why trick-or-treat just once when you have the option of going twice. But if you can’t make it this Saturday, mark your calendar for the annual Cupcake Eating Contest at the Baker’s Market Nov. 20. Frosting will fly as contestants stuff their faces with as many confections as possible in 5 minutes.
