From India: a story of an underappreciated Mumbai housewife who mistakenly delivers her husband’s lunchbox to another man. From Singapore: a look inside the lives of a young, privileged boy and his Filipina nanny. From France: an old-fashioned romance played out inside a nuclear power station.

These are just a few of the hotly anticipated releases at the 32nd installment of the Vancouver International Film Festival, Sept. 26-Oct. 11. Featuring more than 340 films from 70 countries, the festival is one of the largest in North America, drawing 150,000 viewers every year.

Humorist David Sedaris Presents New Book, Nov. 5

Sorry for the late notice on this, Sedaris fans.  Tomorrow, Nov. 5, humorist David Sedaris will be appearing at The Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m.  And tickets are still available.

The quirky, unmistakable voice behind National Public Radio’s This American Life series, Sedaris has been described as the “rock star of writers.”  Since first being discovered reading his diary in a Chicago club more than 20 years ago, Sedaris has gone on to sell more than nine million books.
