The unofficial kick-off for the holiday season is just around the corner when the 16th annual TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade will be taking place in downtown.

To get you into the festive spirit, the family-favourite event will feature more than 40 marching bands, choirs, festive floats, and community groups… as well as a special float for Santa himself!

The event will be taking place Sunday, December 1st, and includes a few fun surprises!

Get into the Christmas Spirit with Free Movies at the Vogue Theatre

This upcoming weekend, The Vogue Theatre will be getting into the holiday spirit and will be screening two Christmas classics to help collect for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The movies will be shown on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11.

Admission to the movies is FREE with a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Vancouver Food Bank. Cash donations will also be accepted. Best of all, all ages are welcome – so it can be a family affair!

Christmas cheer is everywhere and Charlie Brown is not impressed. Sleigh bells ring, children sing, and gifts are given as passersby march merrily through the streets bursting with holiday glee. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown stands idly by muttering, “Good Grief!”

Since 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas has been a holiday season staple, gracing the television screens of homes around the world. Based on the comic strip Peanuts, the Christmas special  follows a depressed Charlie Brown on his quest to find the true meaning of Christmas, and thanks to his festive peers, his depression is lifted as he succumbs to the festive spirit.

This year, Vancouver’s Carousel Theatre for Young People brings the animated tale to life with a fresh, modern take on the age-old holiday classic. Here’s what you can expect from this can’t-miss production.
