Believe it or not, even though there are still lots of Jack-o-lanterns from Halloween on the streets, holiday season is almost upon us.  With Christmas less than two months away, thoughts are already turning to gift giving.  And one of the best ways to score one-of-a-kind gifts in Vancouver is by shopping one of the city’s holiday craft markets.

Now, pretty much everybody knows about the big Circle Craft market, which takes over the Vancouver Convention Centre for a whole week from Nov. 9-13.  But there are plenty of other choices: big or small; whether you’re looking for fine art or dirt cheap, handmade decorations.

Vancouver Brewery Wins Gold in National Contest

Vancouver’s craft beer scene has exploded in recent years, with dozens of microbreweries and brew pubs in the area offering hand-crafted ales and lagers to grateful drinkers.  Now, the beer world has finally acknowledged the city’s achievements, awarding a local brewery one of the highest beer honors in Canada at a recent nationwide competition.

Really Cheap Brewery Tour (and Beer!)

From its modest beginnings, Vancouver’s microbrew scene has exploded in recent years, with dozens of craft brewers now operating in and around the city.  For fans of Vancouver beers, there’s nothing more exhilarating than a brewery tour – getting an up close look at how our local brews are lovingly crafted and – ideally – trying a few afterward.

The only problem is that brewery tours are few and far between in Vancouver.  Information on tours is hard to find and often sketchy.  With that in mind, I’m issuing a call to to local beer fanatics out there:  Do you know of any microbrewery tours being offered in Vancouver?
