50 top Vancouver chefs to cook at one blowout fundraiser

It’s a who’s who of the Vancouver culinary scene–a reunion of sorts, and a rare opportunity to see 50 of the city’s top chefs in action.

On November 17, Vancouver Community College is holding a gala fundraiser in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The evening, aptly titled 50 Years 50 Chefs, brings together those who have a connection to the college’s culinary arts program as alumni, current or former faculty, mentors, and more.

Some names you’ll recognize immediately. Take David Hawksworth for example, the celebrity chef behind Hawksworth Restaurant. Hawksworth did his level 3 apprenticeship at VCC, and the institution recently hosted the finals of his scholarship foundation competition.

Then there’s Ned Bell, executive chef at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and champion of sustainable seafood. Bell is also a VCC alumnus.
