Fans of David Lynch are in luck. This month sees Vancouver celebrating two works by the acclaimed writer/director whose idiosyncratic approach has spawned its own adjective – “Lynchian” (UrbanDictionary.com: “having the same balance between the macabre and the mundane found in the works of filmmaker David Lynch”).
This Saturday night (March 19), devotees of the writer/director’s unique TV series Twin Peaks are invited out for “an evening of cherry pie, black coffee and drinks” – and music – at the WISE Hall in East Vancouver. And, on March 31, the Rio Theatre on Broadway presents a 30th anniversary screening of one of Lynch’s best-known movies, Blue Velvet.
