Who knows what’s happening in a city better than a hotel concierge? As the point of contact for hotel guests seeking information or assistance during their stay, they need to be extremely knowledgeable about a great number of things, from where to eat to what is the current hottest play to see to where to get a fabulous blowout. It’s a tough, but rewarding job.

Each month, Inside Vancouver will get to know one of Vancouver’s top concierges, by putting six questions to them. This month, we interview Rodolfo Parra, Concierge at the grand four-diamond rated hotel, the Fairmont Waterfront. Continue reading:

The air in Vancouver is practically vibrating with the excitement of watching the Canucks battle the Bruins in the Stanley Cup play-offs, and now Vancouver’s Fairmont hotels are joining in the fun, with special cocktails, dishes, parties, and packages to celebrate the men in blue and green.

The Fairmont Waterfront
Watch the games at the famous Herons West Coast Kitchen + Bar (they added TVs just for the play-offs), and get a game-night Burger and Beer special for just $15. Try a Canuck-tini and the delectable Sedin Duo Chocolate Dessert (chocolate mousse cake with a chocolate-covered macaroon, raspberry sauce and a chocolate hockey stick) and the restaurant will donate $1 from each purchase to the Stanley Park Ecology Society.

Royal Wedding Events in Vancouver

With Kate and William set to tie the knot in less than a month, royal wedding fever hasn’t exactly gripped Vancouver.  In fact, depending on whom you talk to, reactions range from mild interest to complete indifference.

With that in mind, I thought I’d try to round-up royal wedding events taking place in and around Vancouver.  There’s just one problem – I wasn’t able to find a whole lot.  So I need some help.

What are you doing for the royal wedding on April 29?  If you know of activities going on around town, please leave a comment below.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:
