On select Fridays throughout the year, the Vancouver Art Gallery – Western Canada’s largest showcase for art – morphs from sophisticated museum to multimedia entertainment zone.

The events, called Fuse, transform the gallery into a space where art, music and  performance all come together.  Fuse features live shows in the gallery spaces, progressive DJs, unconventional and offbeat gallery tours and lots of unexpected surprises.  The idea behind it all: Show that museums can be hip, exciting and accessible.

Family FUSE at Vancouver Art Gallery

For today and tomorrow only, November 21 – 22, the Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG) welcomes children under 12 free (when accompanied by an adult) to Family FUSE, one of the biggest kid-oriented art events in the country.

Family FUSE only happens three times a year, and this time the super event is all about the “Green World” of nature and how artists respond to it.

Kids and families get to participate in sound and animation workshops and collaborative art projects, watch films and live dances, and explore a gallery space that’s been transformed into a forest. Plus, just like monthly “adult” FUSE, everyone can tour the current VAG exhibits, too.

Family FUSE happens on Saturday, November 21 – Sunday, November 22, 2009. Regular admission for adults and seniors still applies.
