Food, Wine and Farms: Feast of Fields – Aug. 29

Can food bring city folk and farm folk closer together?  That’s the idea behind the annual Feast of Fields, a unique event held in the Lower Mainland and other locations.   Feast of Fields brings together chefs, winemakers and brewers, restaurateurs,  farmers and plain-old consumers and puts them all on a local farm for a day of eating, drinking and learning more about where real food comes from.

This year’s Feast of Fields will be on Sunday, Aug. 29, from 1-5pm at Wellbrook Winery on the Bremner Farm in Delta (You might recognize the Bremner name from its juices made from local blueberries and cranberries).  Armed with only a wine glass and a linen napkin, guests wander amid tents set up around the farm, sampling local produce, cheeses and meats, delicious prepared foods from local restaurants and artisan wines and beers.
