With its British accents, fire-breathing CGI dragons, moody stares and leather-and-studs fashion, HBO’s Game of Thrones is ripe for parody.

A Vancouver comedy troupe has taken up the challenge. The Fictionals Comedy Co. have already performed two Throne and Games, their improvisational riff on the show and series of books; next week, on June 5, the company will present the third and final instalment of Throne and Games. So what can audiences expect?

Live, Dirty and Dangerous: It’s the Game of Thrones Burlesque at the Rio

If you thought Game of Thrones couldn’t get any racier, well, think again! The Game of Thrones Burlesque comes to the Rio Theatre this weekend for two nights only. A live interactive Vaudeville show, the show features live music, comedy, burlesque, and everything you love about Game of Thrones.

Based on the popular HBO television series, the Game of Thrones Burlesque is presented by the award-winning troupe, Tourettes Without Regrets. Hailing from Oakland, the show played to sold out crowds in the Bay Area and is now in Vancouver for Friday and Saturday night only. Featuring sweet soul burlesque, circus fire acts, interactive audience contests and live jousting, the Game of Thrones Burlesque promises to be everything GOT – but more dirty, more dangerous and more sexy!

Game of Thrones Exhibition (complete with Iron Throne) Coming to Vancouver

Are you ready to sit on the Iron Throne?

HBO’s Game of Thrones: The Exhibition is set to return to Vancouver this August as part of the 2014 Fair at the PNE.  For fans of the fantasy TV series, scheduled to begin its fourth season in April, it’s a chance to get up close and personal with the costumes and weaponry used by the Starks, the Lannisters and other combatants in their violent struggle for control of the realm.

The display features enough goodies to leave hardcore Game on Thrones fans drooling: a selection of cloaks, dresses and armour; iconic artifacts including model dragons and eggs; an array of weapons such as crossbows, daggers, spears, hatchets and swords; House banners; crowns and headdresses; and books, letters and maps, not to mention original storyboards from the show.  In total, more than 100 items will be showcased.
