Early Music Vancouver presents the return of the Vancouver Bach Festival, August 1–11, 2017 in the heart of the city at Christ Church Cathedral. Following the success of last summer’s inaugural festival, EMV offers a remarkable 14 concerts and features guest artists from all over the world.
For the first time in Vancouver, a unique and vibrant presentation of Eisa drum-dancing by REQUIOS will be performed at the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre on Friday, August 4th, 2017.
The spectacular energy of the Honda Celebration of Light returns for its 27th year on the shores of English Bay, with a thrilling line-up for this year’s festival, featuring Japan, the United Kingdom and home team Canada. The three teams are set to take to the skies on Sat. July 29th, Wed. August 2nd and Sat. August 5th, respectively, in the world’s longest running offshore fireworks competition.

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) injects a delightful dose of magical entertainment into summer with Mary Poppins & The Drowsy Chaperone, running July 7 – August 19, 2017 at Stanley Park’s picturesque Malkin Bowl. On alternating evenings, audiences can indulge in these high-flying adventures – one, an iconic family musical starring an ever so enchanting nanny; the other, a riotous Broadway sensation and tribute to the Roaring Twenties.

On August 19, Vancouver’s Our Cityride mass participation ride and festival will launch. The event was created to bring together communities to promote cycling as a family friendly and fun activity to empower people. It’s a chance to showcase the benefits of cycling for all ages and abilities as a fun way to stay active. The event was founded by Charmaine Crooks and Mark Ernsting.

Our Cityride Festival is Coming to Vancouver This August (Free Ticket Giveaway!)

Last year’s festival saw Italian Day on The Drive take the top spot as the largest one-day cultural street festival in Vancouver, and 2017 is expected to be no different.
This year’s Italian Day theme is Amore, and will attract enthusiastic attendees, no matter what age or culture, with its universal message – love.
