Shouts of “Opa!” and dancing will fill West Broadway in Kitsilano on Greek Day, June 24. This free, family-friendly festival is a homage to the Greek community’s 100-year presence in Vancouver and Greek contributions to international civilization. I think the Greek deserve a little credit, don’t you?
With over 23 food vendors, a Greek wine tasting tent and an Olive Iliad tasting bar, it’s easy to sum up the exuberant celebration as a foodie event. But Greek Day also boasts music, art and tons of culture.
Linger by one of the live music stages. Shop in the Athenian Agora. Make a mosaic or an olive wreath in the Kids’ Zone. Take load off in the Family Picnic Area.
