Part food festival, part market, and part indie concert… there’s nothing quite like the eclectic Hawkers Market, returning to Vancouver this November.

Hawkers Market will be popping up for one day only on November 17, 2018 from 4pm – midnight at the Rocky Mountaineer Station (1755 Cottrell Street).

Billed as an “experiential annual food festival”, Hawkers blends together the worlds of indie food, breweries, distilleries & music. First started in Vancouver in 2013, Hawkers Market features independent chefs, breweries, distilleries, side hustles, pop ups & indie food producers in a format centred around a Hawker style eating and drinking experience where guests are able to choose from multiple tastings included in their wristband ticket.

An exciting, new foodie paradise seemingly inspired by Lego blocks will be launching in North Vancouver this summer. Hawkers Wharf, a harbour-front, open-air food market is a brand new concept in Vancouver, combining shared kitchen space, demonstration gardens, and alfresco dining.

The market will take over the space at 925 Harbourside Drive near the North Shore Automall and will host 20 to 40 retail and wholesale food businesses that will occupy shipping container boxes. (Hence, the Lego inspiration!)

This new development will be reminiscent of some of the world’s greatest open air markets with a laid-back, West Coast vibe. And there will be food, lots and lots of food!

It’s part food festival, part night market, and part nightclub party…and there’s nothing else quite like it in Vancouver. Hawkers Market is back this Saturday (May 30), and if you play your smartphone apps right, you can get in for free.

The market, which has been happening periodically in Vancouver since September 2012, is billed as a “social food marketplace”. Startup foodie entrepreneurs bring their new products to the venues and meet customers eager to try the latest thing.

It’s the atmosphere that sets Hawkers Markets apart. These markets are bustling with dim lights, energetic music, and young foodies trying whatever’s new and novel as they sip craft beer.

It’s not every day a stranger will invite you into their home for a home cooked meal. But on October 19th, thirty homes across Vancouver will be doing just that. #dinnerpartyYVR is a brand new, unique, simultaneous dinner party happening across Vancouver.

The dinner party is a “local, global dinner party” organised by Social Bites. Local hobby chefs will open their doors to strangers and treat guests to a home cooked meal, all in support of their favourite charity. Menus range on a global scale, from Italian to Chinese to Moroccan. Diners can take their pick of cuisines and purchase tickets to the meal of their choice.
