Vancouver Giants Home Opener, Sept. 20 (Free Ticket Giveaway!)

The Giants will kick off their 13th season with the Home Opener on Friday, September 20 against their divisional rival Victoria Royals at 7:30pm at the Pacific Coliseum. The Giants’ first road game will be the following night in Victoria at 7:05pm.

The 2013/2014 Western Hockey League regular season will once again be comprised of 72 games for each club – 36 home and 36 away. The 36 Giants home games will consist of 13 Fridays, 7 Saturdays, 4 Sundays, 7 Wednesdays, 3 Tuesdays, and 2 Mondays.

A Season Preview for the Vancouver Canucks

With temperatures expected to reach the low 30’s this week hockey season may seem a long way off, but here’s a short video to get you in the mood.

And you thought it was too hot for hockey.

Tomorrow night at 5:30 pm, the puck–er, ball–will drop in the 800 block of Granville Street for the final game of the Five Hole for Food cross-Canada road hockey tour, a food-raiser for the nation’s food banks.

(And now that Granville Street is officially closed to traffic, there won’t be any cries of “Caaaaaaaaar!” to interrupt the excitement.)
