Vancouver is located on the ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The rich heritage and cultural vitality of these Nations play a key role within Vancouver, which was designated a City of Reconciliation on July 8, 2014, when the Council adopted a Reconciliation Framework.
