Sweet drams are made of this at Vancouver Writers Fest’s annual whiskey soirée

For those whose livers, not to mention pocketbooks, are still recovering from the 2017 Vancouver International Wine Festival, there’s some bad news: A Dram Come True gives appreciators of fine elixirs a chance to do it all over again, albeit in one night and with whiskey rather than wine.

At the 15th annual event, local and international booze producers offer unlimited samples of their products – not only bourbon, scotch, and rye, but also craft beer, wine and specialty libations, such as vodka and amaretto (from local company Sons of Vancouver). And of course, there will be food, including delectable morsels of delight courtesy of local food artistes Hawksworth, Savoury City and Gyoza Bar.

A Dram Come True raises funds for the non-profit Vancouver Writers Festival (no word on whether any writers will actually be in attendance) and takes place March 10 from 8-10 p.m. at Performance Works (1218 Cartwright St.) on Granville Island. See below for the official tasting menu.
