Certain foods invoke sunshine and carefree days sipping margaritas. Although Vancouverites are staying local right now, there are plenty of tacos to be had for a Mexican culinary escape in the city. Plus, tacos are convenient for a grab-and-go meal or for a take-out feast at home.

In the last few years, Mexican restaurant options in Vancouver have expanded significantly, ranging from casual taquerias to more upscale dining establishments.

Tacofino Yaletown and Lucky Taco Open in Vancouver!

There was a time in the city, not too long ago, when good taco joints were few and far between. In the last few years though, there has been a flurry of openings. This summer is no exception. My boyfriend and I, especially in the summer, love going for tacos. It’s a fairly inexpensive meal, we have an excuse for margaritas, and it’s a fun, laid-back eating experience!

Two recent openings are definite must-visits when a taco craving hits.
