One of the longest running traditions in the city, The Parade of Lost Souls, is a much-anticipated annual event that has been conceptualized and produced by volunteers for over twenty-five years! The iconic event is a favourite for many, in part because of all the collaboration and community effort it takes to put this event together.

Shrouded in mystery, the annual Parade of Lost Souls takes place at a secret location that isn’t revealed until midnight on the night before the event (typically, on or around the Commercial Drive area). This year, the parade will celebrate the “Altar Ego”, and you’ll have a chance to bring it out to play on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 7pm.

Looking for something distinctly different this Halloween night in Vancouver?

The Parade of Lost Souls may be just the thing. The annual tradition, which sees thousands of people marching, dancing, playing music and eating fire on the streets of the Commercial Drive neighbourhood, returns Oct. 31, from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

The grassroots, crowdsourced and utterly unique parade dates back decades in East Vancouver. It’s loosely organized and community-based, and generally features an eclectic assortment of local groups, ranging from live bands to clowns, magicians, Mexican folk dancers, dancing zombies and even burlesque troupes. The spirit is participatory – with everyone invited to join in a celebration of life and death.   Continue reading:

With an uncertain future, it seemed to everyone that the Parade of Lost Souls would be ending on a high note last year with thousands of revelers celebrating life and depth. Luckily, this year, the parade is back again with the event being organized by the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret Society–an artist collective of professional and emerging artists based in East Vancouver.

The Parade of Lost Souls is an alternative option to the typical Halloween parties that happen around October 31st. The annual tradition has been a Vancouver mainstay for the past 20 years, however this year it is being run for the first time without it’s founders (Public Dreams Society). It’s a celebration of light, music, fire, and death, being held on Saturday, November 1st from 7-10pm at a secret location!
