Yarrr… International “talk like a pirate day” isn’t until September 19th (seriously), but you can feel like a pirate on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, for White Spot Restaurant’s annual ‘Adult Pirate Pak’ day!

This annual event not only gives you the chance to feel young again by eating out of a paper pirate ship, but it is also an excuse to give back to an amazing cause.

For the uninitiated, the Pirate Pak is a classic children’s order from White Spot that features a hamburger (or another dinner item) placed in a fancy cardboard pirate ship. Sounds silly? You’ve obviously never enjoyed the thrill of finding pirate treasure (i.e. a gold chocolate coin) in the hull of a cardboard ship!

Ahoy mateys! If you’re always looking for ways to feel like a kid again – you’re in luck! White Spot Restaurant is bringing back its special edition ‘Adult Pirate Pak’ on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, giving the young-at-heart a chance to feel like a kid again – all while helping a worthy cause.

For those unaware, the Pirate Pak is a classic children’s order from White Spot and features a hamburger (or other dinner item) placed in a fancy cardboard pirate ship. Sounds silly? You’ve obviously never enjoyed the thrill of finding pirate treasure (i.e. a gold chocolate coin) in the hull of a cardboard ship!

White Spot will celebrate its fifth annual Pirate Pak Day by donating $2 from each kids and adult Pirate Pak sold on Wednesday, August 15 to Zajac Ranch for Children. Zajac Ranch is an established B.C. charity that gives children and young adults with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities an unforgettable summer camp experience.

It’s your chance to be a kid again … complete with burger, fries and chocolate coin.

On Wednesday, August 12, Vancouver’s home-grown burger chain White Spot is holding its annual adult Pirate Pak Day. Normally just for the kids, the special meals packed with fast-food goodness will be available to everyone, for one day only.

If you haven’t tried one, a Pirate Pak is basically a kids meal, laid out inside a paper boat with a paper sail supported by a straw. The deck of the boat has a spot for a burger, fries, coleslaw and a soft drink. A scoop of ice cream goes into the prow and, of course, there’s the pirate treasure: a chocolate coin wrapped in gold foil. Continue reading:

Explaining the appeal of a White Spot Pirate Pak to people who have never tried one is sometimes a challenge.

It’s basically a kids meal, stuffed into a paper boat with a paper sail supported by a straw. On the deck of the boat, there’s a spot for a burger, fries and a soft drink.  A scoop of ice cream goes into the prow and, of course, there’s the pirate treasure: one solid gold (chocolate) coin.

It’s cheesy.  It’s gimmicky.  And it’s the stuff of legend here in Vancouver, where the very first White Spot restaurant was born back in 1928. (Now there are 64 White Spots serving up Legendary Burgers and fries across Canada and around the world.)  In fact, it’s hard to find anyone who grew up in the city who doesn’t have some incredibly nostalgic memories of going to White Spot as a kid and digging into their very own Pirate Pak.
