The Fair at the PNE Kicks Off this Saturday with BBQ Cricket Burgers, Free Concerts, and More!

You may soon notice a faint smell of mini donuts in the air… The Fair at the PNE is coming back to Vancouver this Saturday, August 19 and running until Monday, September 4 (Labour Day)!

Featuring rides, inventive food options, endless entertainment, and free concerts, the PNE is always a memorable occasion in Vancouver’s summer season. For 2017, the PNE is pulling out all the stops to keep you entertained with new attractions and shows here for this year only.

Didn’t think you’d ever get the chance to experience Playland without the constant buzz of young children? Think again! It’s time for adults to overtake the amusement park!

Playland will be hosting 19+ “adults only” nights beginning on July 7 and running every Friday for the month. The entire fairgrounds will be funny licensed, meaning you can sip on a cold beer or a cocktail while wandering around and figuring out which ride will make your stomach hurt the least. As the temperatures warm up and the Spring blossoms begin to decorate the city’s  landscape, local families are heading outdoors to take advantage of Vancouver’s natural surroundings, adventurous activities, and breathtaking scenery – and you can too.

To commemorate the start of a new season, my family has put together a Spring bucket list – a great way to encourage us to spend time together outdoors, enjoying the beauty of our city, and taking advantage of the warming weather as we kiss the Winter chill goodbye for another year. The PNE opened up its gates for the festival of the summer this weekend, and we’ve already been treated to a few days of fun. One of the highlights of the PNE has got to be the free summer concerts that are held every night at 8:30pm.

It’s a unique venue and a unique opportunity to watch some of your favourite bands perform for free with fair gate admission ($17 at the gate or $13 online)! Without having to pay the cost of a concert ticket, you’ll have even more extra cash on hand to buy a couple extra bags of delicious mini donuts!
