Libations lovers, rejoice: Hopscotch Festival sweeps over the city on Monday, November 20, bringing with it seven days and nights of enticing tipples and prime pours. Whether a sampling free-for-all at the Grand Tasting Hall or an intimate whiskey masterclass, the event shines a spotlight on spirits from around the world for scotch, craft beer, cider, wine, cocktail and spirits aficionados and newbies alike.

Family Fun at the 2014 Vancouver Mini Maker Faire

Brothers and sisters start your 3D printers, grab your crochet sticks or bring your lego skillz.

The Vancouver Mini-Maker Faire is back this weekend and has a lot super fun stuff to look at, try out or buy for the sibling set, the inventor set and localista shopping set.

Held at the PNE Forum (2901 East Hastings Street) on June 7 & 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., this year’s faire features food, workshops and makers showing off their mad making skills including a couple sets of siblings.

This year’s Mini Maker faire keeps it’s fun in the family with a few uber-creative siblings displaying their talents. Sublime Sisters Design (Kelsie, age 13 and Natalie, age 11) will be selling their lovely jewellery while Gearbots program participants Joshua and Jessi Langager share their Robo Lego expertise.  Continue reading:
