Embrace Cinema at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival

Out On Screen announced today the program for the 33rd annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival (VQFF), taking place virtually this summer from Thursday, August 12 to Sunday, August 22. Tickets and Passes are available online at www.queerfilmfestival.ca.
VQFF will be presented online in a video-on-demand (VOD) format, with a few small in-person events. Most films will be available throughout the 11-day celebration, with all content available to stream across British Columbia. The Festival will continue to follow the guidance of Public Health in order to offer audiences a COVID-safe viewing experience of the best independent queer cinema, along with workshops, artist Q&As, panels, and a few fun surprises.
The 32nd Vancouver Queer Film Festival has adapted to an online format to offer at-home audiences the best in independent queer cinema experience. VQFF will include workshops, artist Q&As, panels, watch parties and – most importantly – the feeling of gathering with friends and kin.

Vancouver Queer Film Festival Shifts to Digital Platform
This weekend is your chance to get a new perspective and hear a voice you may not otherwise with one of the many films at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. The PNE is also now officially open with rides, weird foods and more; SeaWheeze is on with yoga, a run and an outdoor music festival; and Ambleside Park has the Blue Oyster Cult and Tom Cochrane.

Local Films to Watch this Weekend at the Queer Film Festival
This weekend Vancouver will be painted by the Mural Festival, have its heart opened by the Queer Film Festival, be strummed to by the Guitar Festival, and probably fall over laughing watching a bunch of corgis race. If you find yourself in the dark outdoors on Sunday, look up into the stars – the Perseids will be shooting across the skies in one of the brightest meteor showers of the year.
This Saturday is the peak of the annual Perseids meteor shower, so be sure to look up at the night sky in between all of the festivals this weekend, including the multi-faceted Queer Film Festival, giant neighbourhood art at the Mural Festival, and lululaemon’s huge seaside yoga marathon and party; Sea Wheeze.
