Based on local interest for the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will be holding a Royal Wedding breakfast starting at 3:00am on Friday, April 29. The wedding coverage will be aired live from Britain and shown on large screens in 900 West Lounge. Breakfast will be a three-tiered hot breakfast platter (complete with the hotel’s famous scones) for $29 per person, including coffee or tea. Please note that breakfast reservations are required and can be made by calling 604.662.1900.

Royal Wedding Events in Vancouver

With Kate and William set to tie the knot in less than a month, royal wedding fever hasn’t exactly gripped Vancouver.  In fact, depending on whom you talk to, reactions range from mild interest to complete indifference.

Nonetheless, Vancouver’s British roots do run deep.   Some 36 percent of Vancouverites trace their roots to the British Isles.  Fish-and-chips joints abound.  And, on certain stretches of West Vancouver seawall, especially from Ambleside to Dundrave, you’ll likely hear plenty of British accents as UK expats and retirees take their morning constitutionals.

With that in mind, I thought I’d try to round-up royal wedding events taking place in and around Vancouver.  There’s just one problem – I wasn’t able to find a whole lot.  So I need some help.
